The tractor was huge and brutal. Every flower on the roadside was violently being cut down and I bawled my eyes out as I watched something so beautiful disappear, right in front of my eyes. I was just 5 years old and it was terrifying.

I grew up in Norway, where nature is part of everyday life. I spent a lot of time on my own on skis, and later found the same feeling at sea — sailing, adjusting to wind, movement and light, learning to trust instinct more than control. Those moments always allowed me to escape to a place of calm and peacefulness. 

My work has grown naturally from that. I’ve shot for advertising, travel brands and luxury publications who want to capture beauty and escapism around the world.
